HOT TAKE: You don’t need another book

Some real talk coming at you this afternoon. Ready?

Books like “What Color is Your Parachute?” are kind of silly, IMO. For some people, they work wonders. Great! For a vast majority, though, books about self-direction don’t really help. They give you a short term boost of adrenaline but leave you stuck, not actually implementing the new stuff you learned. That is not what we want to see!

Unfortunately, a lot of folks end up in a cycle when searching for a career change: reading book after book, not really doing anything with the information.

Making a change requires 2 things:

  1. A process - steps to follow

  2. Accountability - support to take those steps

So if you have inspiration without action, or action without clear direction, you’re not going very far. Got it?

Read all the books you want, but PLEASE stop thinking they’re going to “figure out life” for you. They’re probably not. It’s up to YOU to figure out life for you. Capiche?

If you’re a sucker for a self-help book too, own it and let me know. I 100% have done this before - it’s how I can speak to it so well!

And instead of reading every self-help book on the block, start by ensuring you have both inspiration AND action in place. That's how you make moves.

Here to help if you need support with either one!
