Tips to Take Advantage of the Back-to-School Energy and Finish 2022 Out Strong

Fall is here, and while your social media feeds are filled with pictures of kids in backpacks returning to school, the energy is permeating everything.

As a coach, fall is always a busy time in my business. I’m convinced it has something to do with the starting of the school year. Even if you don’t have kids going back, fall seems to bring out the “clean slate” mentality in folks, and it’s almost like a mini January reset…

How High Achievers Can Overcome the Ego Bruise of Having to Learn in a New Role

Starting a new job is hard! It’s such a steep learning curve, and in my experience, while this curve can be tough for everyone, it’s particularly challenging for high achievers.

There’s a unique experience that many high achievers face: wanting to learn more and take on a new role so that they can uplevel, while simultaneously being unwilling to do so. As a result, once they’ve outgrown a role, they agonize, trapped in between their desire for a new opportunity and their fear of “starting over”…

Why you might be struggling as a work martyr

Tell me if this sounds familiar:

If this sounds familiar, you’re in good company. And you might be suffering from the (non-official, as far as I know) ailment: you might be a work martyr.

In my last 5.5 years in business as a career fulfillment & mindset coach, I’ve seen this challenge more times than I can count! By the time people get on an exploratory call with me, they often say something along the lines of, “I’ve been debating this for 2 years now… Can you help?”

This cycle breaks my heart, and it’s such an emotional rollercoaster. Here’s how it typically looks…

It’s been a heavy few weeks here in the US. Just over a week ago today, Roe vs. Wade was overturned. And while you might be wondering “what on earth does abortion access have to do with career coaching?!”, as a coach who works with a majority of clients who have uteruses, this does indeed feel relevant for me. Because not only have I been feeling the sadness and weight of the last few weeks, but I’ve been hearing the same sentiment from my community as well. This Supreme Court ruling is weighing heavy on their hearts.

As a result, I figured now was as good of a time as any to remind you that there will be ebbs and flows in your capacity for work.
